“I have come to
see that our emotional and spiritual lives are intertwined. As we deal with issues that have kept us at
a standstill emotionally, we find ourselves with a renewed ability to explore a healthy relationship with a loving God.”
Jan Teer, MA, LPC, and her husband Mike were in professional ministry positions
for most of their marriage. However, a series of events changed the direction of their lives.
Jan reports, “I have been blessed by the people whom God has placed into my life to encourage me and to challenge
me. I would like to be able to help others in similar ways.”
In order to do that, Jan returned to school and finished both her undergraduate and graduate
degrees from Dallas Baptist University. After completing a master’s in counseling, Jan finished an
internship through Women’s Haven of Tarrant County. During her time there, Jan assisted men, women,
and children in dealing with many issues relating to all areas of abuse. These included anxiety/depression,
self-esteem, setting appropriate boundaries, and anger management skills. She brings these same skills
and compassion to her private practice.
Jan has been married to her husband Mike
for 33 years. They have four children, as well as three daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren.
Jan and Mike can occasionally be seen riding through their neighborhood on their tandem bicycle. Jan
is the one holding on for dear life on the back.
